Buckets and Boots, Baskets and Barrows Festival 2015
St Denys Church, Evington launched a new festival on 4th and 5th July 2015, celebrating the creativity of our village. We decorated the Church, churchyard and Parish Centre with a summer display of decorated barrows, baskets, boots and buckets of all shapes, sizes and designs. You can see all 40 entries in the slideshow above.
The Festival was launched with an excellent performance by our children's choir, the St Denys Junior Singers on Saturday at 12 noon and the weekend finished with a Songs of Praise service at 5pm on Sunday. The Church was open both days 12-5pm for people to come and enjoy the displays with teas served in the Parish Centre.
There was great support from the wider community and the winning entries were submitted by Evington Village Hall (A knitter's Paradise) and the Whitehall School Eco-Warriors (What a bucket of blooming bottles).
